Ten Little Luxuries That Save My Sanity

Because motherhood should come with a concierge service, but until then...

As a full-time stay-at-home parent—AKA personal chef, chauffeur, teacher, nurse, referee, housekeeper, and laundry service rolled into one—I have precious few minutes to myself. But that doesn't mean I can't make the most of them and romanticize as much as possible while at home with little kids.

These aren't massive splurges or impossible routines—just small, thoughtful things that make the days feel a little softer and more me. Think of them as micro-investments in your mental health, disguised as everyday choices.

1. A Bluetooth Speaker (My Mood DJ)

Music changes everything, and it's absolutely essential to me. Do you remember those intense childhood conversations on the school bus—"Would you rather be deaf or blind?"—that kept you up at night thinking? If I really had to choose, I think I'd pick blindness. Taking away music would be too much.

I keep a speaker in the kitchen and curate each day's emotional soundtrack: calm instrumental piano or French jazz in the morning to ease us into the day, something upbeat for afternoon outdoor time, then back to something soothing during dinner prep.

Hot tip: I have a strict no-kid-music rule in my car and house. Something in our home needs to stay sacredly mine, and music is that thing.

I love this speaker because it has a handle that makes carrying it from room to room super easy, even with a baby on your hip!

2. Skincare, Twice a Day (The Ritual That Says "I See You")

I've been a beauty junkie since childhood, reading beauty magazines like sacred texts. I built a career around it, working at Estée Lauder, Birchbox, and Victoria's Secret for nearly seven years before jumping into entrepreneurship. Beauty and skincare were part of my identity before motherhood, and they remain important now.

Recently I tried Primarily Pure after months of curiosity, and I'm obsessed. The smell, the luxurious feel, the actual results—usually by this point in summer, my postpartum melasma is out of control, but it's barely noticeable now. A miracle.

Spending 5-10 minutes morning and night doing something enjoyable for myself makes me feel less like a servant to my kids and more like a person. I rarely miss a day.

Also just started using Frownies because I can't bring myself to pay for Botox yet—and I love them!

3. Beauty Tools That Create My At-Home Spa

Lauren Bosstick's line of skincare tools is unbeatable. I dry brush before showers and use an ice roller in the morning. These simple tools transform a regular bathroom into a wellness sanctuary. Even 5-10 minutes with one of these tools elevates the entire experience—and honestly, the entire day.

4. My Naghedi Bag (The Chicest Mary Poppins Situation)

This Naghedi bag is working overtime. It holds diapers, seventeen different snacks, wipes, a random princess crown, someone's lost sock, and my actual wallet—while still making me look like I have my life together. It's structured enough to feel grown-up but practical enough to survive daily chaos. When I carry it, I feel like the kind of mom who has both emergency snacks and good taste.

I have the large size and found a limited edition color on sale at Nordstrom for nearly $100 off—definitely keep your eyes peeled for deals!

5. ChatGPT + Notion (My Digital Personal Assistant)

My brain feels like an open browser with 47 tabs that never finish loading. This combo as my external processing system has been genuinely life-changing. ChatGPT helps me brainstorm everything from dinner ideas to sensory play activities, while Notion keeps it all organized in one place.

My greatest mom hack: Every Sunday, I use ChatGPT to plan our week, then copy everything into Notion to stay organized. I also keep my weekly to-do list there, creating a one-stop shop for both big picture planning and tiny details.

When you're alone with three kids for 12 hours a day, feeling like you have help is everything.

Want to see my remaining 5 sanity-saving luxuries? From my secret weapon for guilt-free quiet time to the $5 thing that can make or break my entire day, plus the simple "uniform" trick that eliminates decision fatigue before 7am—the most relatable (and honestly, most necessary) tips are still coming. These last five have genuinely kept me sane through the hardest parenting moments.
